Getting Started With BANZEL

How should BANZEL be administered?

Administer BANZEL exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to. Your healthcare provider will tell you how much BANZEL to give.

Your healthcare provider may change the dose. Do not change your loved one’s dose of BANZEL without talking to your healthcare provider.

Give BANZEL with food.

BANZEL tablets can be swallowed whole, cut in half, or crushed.

If your loved one takes BANZEL Oral Suspension instead of BANZEL tablets, shake the bottle well before administering each dose.*

If you administer too much BANZEL, call your local Poison Control Center or get emergency medical help right away.

*Measure the dose of BANZEL Oral Suspension using the bottle adapter and dosing syringes provided. See the complete Instructions for Use on pages 23-27 of the BANZEL Prescribing Information for information on how to use the dosing syringes and measure the dose of BANZEL Oral Suspension.

Ask your healthcare provider about adding BANZEL to an existing treatment. As with all antiepileptic drugs, BANZEL should be withdrawn gradually, so be sure to talk to your healthcare professional before stopping or starting any medication.

Drug-Drug interactions — Tell your healthcare provider about all the medications your loved one takes, including prescription and non-prescription medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

Hormonal contraceptives — Using BANZEL at the same time as hormonal contraceptives may make the contraception less effective. Additional non-hormonal forms of contraception are recommended when taking BANZEL.
